What Color To Paint Shutteres On Bblue House

Kipple: 5 years later

Within five years, all the eBook will cost 99 cents

[ taken from booksblog.it, published by Roberto Russo ]

About a year ago we asked you what do you think would cost an eBook. Most of the responses to our survey indicated that an ebook should cost 50% less than the paper, although it was stated in comments that could be much lower.

Since last year, water has passed under the bridge and the eBook market is growing (though the fact remains that if they talk a lot, a lot of respect to those who sell eBooks in reality). For the discussion of prices, is increasingly gaining awareness of the publishers that the price must be kept low: those who do not lower it on its way out from the logic of the market, because of the pricing policy implemented by the authors who self-publish directly, without passing by the publishers. But

lower them to what? According to Kevin Kelly to be in five years, digital books will cost 99 cents. Kelly himself says that this is not good news for the publishers nor the authors, but it is, without doubt, the readers.
